All the team at Hope House were very saddened to hear the news of Mr Alan Baillie ‘s passing. Alan was never one to be in the limelight and silently raised money for many charities over the years but we want to honour him and shine a light on this wonderful HOPEhero that even while in his own battle against cancer he was determined to stand alongside others and help them Stand Up To Cancer.
Alan has left a wonderful legacy of HOPE behind by his wonderful acts of fundraising. We salute Alan for being a part of helping us make Hope House a permanent home for others to recuperate from treatments. Alan and his colleagues, friends and family helped us purchase our new property at Brownsbay by putting on the In Their Shoes Charity Event, he gave us a gift that will keep on giving to many who find themselves In His Shoes. A quote from Frederic Buechner says “When you remember me it means you have carried something of who I am with you. That I have left some mark of who I am on who you are. It means you can summon me back to your mind even when countless years may stand between us.”
Nothing is so precious as the memory that lives on and Alan’s mark is forever in the bricks and mortar of Hope Hope.
