The Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland supports underfunded charities that assist vulnerable or disadvantaged people to participate actively in their communities. One of the two main target areas in which they seek to allocate funds is Social and Community Needs which includes community services, advice services, people with special needs, promotion of health, civic responsibility and cultural enrichment.
Every year The Halifax Foundation hold a Parliamentary Reception at Stormont where they invite the charities they support to showcase themselves to guests, MLAs and other VIPs.
We were delighted to attend the event at which there were performances by Open Arts Community Choir and Luminous Soul Contemporary Dance Group and we enjoyed meeting other charities.
We were extremely grateful to receive funding from The Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland which supported the cost of some of our fixtures and fittings in our property. The foundation have been a tremendous support to us from the early days of Hope House.
